DJI Phantom II Vision for taking photograph's
« on: November 01, 2013, 02:13:57 PM »
Hi,

Does anyone has experience with this type of drone?
It is stated it can take pictures with 14 Mpixels
I want to use it for scanning buildings...

greetings, Rob

It supposedly supports RAW capture, and 'might' have a few more control options than the usual GoPro cameras that are normally paired with the Phantom. But I would say to wait until some reviews come out, and it hasn't been officially released yet. It likely will be not good enough and the super wide lens might have too much distortion to be usable.

My guess is that the UAV'ers here would suggest a better camera pairing.

Now that it's been out for a while, has anyone had a chance to evaluate the Phantom II vision for scanning buildings?

DJI announced a couple of interesting tidbits a couple of days ago about a couple of new features, which could be quite handy.

Still not sure if that will lead to dramatically better image quality. I haven't been super impressed from the comparisons and examples I've seen out there so far.

You obviously need a stabilized Gimbal for sharp images.
