markers for rounded objects

I'm not a programmer  and have no clue if this is possible. But I think it would be neat if  you could add

• connecting-markers, to tell the program that "this is a  rounded object". Connect the start and the end of the end of hanging cables, table- and chair-legs, pipes and other round/rounded stuff.
  
• area-makers for reflective objects
• area-markers for transparent objects

To make it more clear for the process what it is working on.

Curious.. but. what would the cylindrical markings help other than UV mapping eventually?  That needs a complete overhaul anyways IMHO. 

Just wondering how you are thinking of this.
