Frozen Project after Build Mesh
« on: October 07, 2016, 09:03:55 PM »
Hello All,

I attempted to build a mesh from a large dense point cloud. The tool ran for about an hour and froze on color calibration with the progress bar at 100%. I canceled the tool and made the mistake of saving the project at which point the entire project froze.  When I reopen the project, I experience the same lag and freezing. Is there any way to recover the project or at least the dense point cloud and other work? This was the culmination of days of alignment and point cloud generation.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello ckbloom,

Looks like a graphic card visualization issue that is trying to open high-poly model.

I can suggest to set the "Point Cloud" view mode as default option in PhotoScan Preferences window. In this case the view mode wouldn't switch automatically to the Mesh view option when the project is opened or mesh is generated. It will allow you to save the project after the operation or decimate the mesh to a reasonable polygon count.
