Possibillity to make the mesh "3D-printable"
« on: April 01, 2016, 06:18:38 PM »
Hello there,

i am looking for a function, to "generate" a volume under the boundaries of the mesh. But i'm not talking about an ordinary extrusion. The bottom of this generated volume should be a plane with a specified height (for example 350m over NN). With this, you would be able to easily print your generated meshes (in this case it is a terrain model).

Hi Thomas,
you could try Blender (https://www.blender.org/) and there is a modifier Boolean>Intersect. If you import your mesh into the Blender space, add a cube that would fit within boundaries of the PS mesh and give it a Z-dimension you may get your required results.
