Recommendations for high speed calculations

Hello,

I want to speed up calculations in Photoscan.

At the moment I use a Lenovo Thinkpad W530, i7-3720QM 2.60 GHz, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M.

Which recent configurations do you recommend for
- a tower pc?
- a laptop?

From which part depends the calculation speed most?

I would suggest that you stop using laptop for SfM computations - laptops are not designed for long-term computations. The heat will slowly destroy HW parts in your laptop. I would recommend a tower-pc or a rack-server.
My current server is XEON E-52683 v4, 256 GB RAM, GeForce GTX Titan X and everything is running super fast.

I would also recommend a real Computer not a notebook.

What kind of projects do you want to calculate and what will be your DenseCloud accuracy ? (low,mid,high) ?

I'm calculating DEMs and Orthophotos from drone surveillances.
The Dense Cloud accurancy should be high.

The CPU and GPU speed is important. I would start with a strong 6 core CPU like 6800k and one or two gaming GPUs. Please check the links below.
