flying altitude estimation in processing report
« on: December 05, 2016, 04:00:01 AM »
Hi,

I am curious about how Photoscan get the flying altitude in the processing report. I found that each time the flying altitude varies a little bit even I used all the same photos for precessing.
Hope to get some idea from you and thanks a lot.

Hello ccrystal98,

PhotoScan estimates the average distance from the cameras to the sparse cloud points. The distance may vary slightly due to the stochastic element in the alignment process.
For the projects without GCPs the focal length may be estimated not so accurate.

Hi Alexey,

Is flying height calculated from the median average distance? (Or another average?)

Thanks!
