Export model or DEM to Google Earth
« on: December 08, 2016, 10:50:43 PM »
Hi. I'm very noob at PhotoScan, but I read tutorials and I've searched throughout topics trying to solve my problem. The thing is, I can't export model or DEM to Google Earth anymore. I did it once, before I updated Photoscan to 1.2.6, but now no more. I tried to "export model" to kmz and collada as well, but when it opens, it just zooms in and that's it, no model. I tried exporting DEM as well, checked "write kml file", but when it opens, it shows a black square (as shown in the attached file). BTW, I exported the same model to 3D pdf and it worked fine. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hello ivandm,

DEM is exported from PhotoScan as single channel GeoTIFF with floating point values. Seems that Google Earth can only handle three-channel RGB raster.

As for the model export, what is the number of polygons of your model and texture atlas size? If the file is too huge, Google Earth wouldn't be able to work with it.
