OpenCl with Radeon RX-480 not working?
« on: December 10, 2016, 02:06:55 PM »
Hi. Under Preferences-OpenCL-I can see the following device: Ellesmere (36 cores @ 1266Mhz, 8192 MB). I guess it means that I have the possibility to use openCL with agisoft. But, when I disable 1 or 2 cores of the total of 6 cores of my CPU, I can still see that all 6 cores are working looking at the AMD system monitor plugin. Does this mean that the openCL is not activated? The GPU is working quite heavily during the "Depth Construction"  of the dense cloud generation step.

Hello fivefootnine,

CPU cores slider in the OpenCL tab of PhotoScan Preferences defines how many CPU cores will be dedicated for the depth maps calculation. Other cores may be utilized for the task control on GPU (that's why we suggest to disable  one core per OpenCL device).

In the console pane during the depth maps calculation stage you can see, if the GPU is used.
Best regards,
