Export of contours linked with NDVI data (for GIS analysis)
« on: February 20, 2017, 04:03:46 PM »
Dear everybody (especially agisoft) :)

Is there a way to export generated contours derived from a NDVI analysis WITH the data from which it was generated?

That is: Is it possible to export the generated shape-files including their specific NDVI value?

If it isn't then the tool is nearly worthless for other than visual estimates, which is a shame.

Oh and does anyone know why 0 and 0.1 values aren't generated as shapes when producing the NDVI contours?

I hope you can help because this ability would really help in working with large datasets where the NDVI-values needs to be connected to the specific shapefiles.

Kind regards
Niels, University of Southern Denmark

Hello Niels,

When contours are generated each shape (polyline or polygon) in the layer has it's own attribute named "ELEVATION" with the corresponding index value.

Thank you for the reply.
It seems that this attribute is left blank when opening the shape file in a GIS program.
I only have ID (1,2,3 ....), elevation (only zeros) and name (only 0 m).

Its a bit annoying when we really need to connect the NDVI value to the area of specific polygons.

Hello Niels,

Are you using version 1.3 of PhotoScan Pro?

Hello Niels,

You need to download and install new version manually. Also note that due to the changes in activation system, it's necessary to input the activation key again.

You need to generate the contours in the new version so that they could have ELEVATION attribute.

Now the elevation value corresponds with the NDVI value, but it still leaves out a lot of areas with ndvi values, ie. ndvi values are created (I can see from the raster) but not all of the corresponding polygons are created.

Can you provide any small sample project to check that (only chunk with the transformed orthomosaic, other data like dense cloud, dem, mesh, orthorectivied images can be removed from the project to reduce the data size)?

I'll see what I can do. It also seems like the polygon borders are somewhat off compared to the corresponding raster.

I'll try to export a proper example for you.

The project files seems to be rather large no matter what.

I have placed the files for you here:

Hello Niels,

Unfortunately, without corresponding .files folders PSX files do not contain any information.
