Photometric correction
« on: February 21, 2017, 09:25:16 AM »
I found a paragraph "Photometric modifications do not affect reconstruction results." in the manual. Does that mean that 'it is no use to apply photometric correction', or if 'it affects the result, but it does not confuse the software, other than the geometric correction'? Does the PhotoScan automatically contrast-stretch image or apply some photometric corrections to images, if the former is correct?

Hello yowich,

Small changes of contrast, brightness and etc. wouldn't affect the geometry reconstruction process, however, we still do not suggest to perform any pre-processing corrections, unless there are specific requirements to the produced texture.
