Orthomosaic Export - Failed Export when Clipping to Boundary
« on: November 06, 2023, 05:10:06 PM »
Hi All,
I wanted to flag a potential issue and document a workaround. I'm not sure if this is specific to my file/project, and I'll report back if I encounter it again.

Issue:
I'm finding that my orthomosaic images will not successfully export if I select "clip to boundary" in the export dialog. The Console states that the orthomosaic export finished processing, but one of two situations occurs:  1) no file is generated, or 2) a blank white image is generated. This is odd because I was successfully exporting orthomosaics from this project/file previously (with an identical workflow, model, settings, etc.). Trial & error showed that the issue wasn't specific to a particular orthomosaic or the polygon shape being used as a boundary.

Workaround:
Oddly enough, everything works as anticipated if I duplicate the orthomosaic, select "clip to boundary" on the duplicate ortho dialog, and then export the orthomosaic without checking "clip to boundary."

~EDIT - SOLVED~
It turns out that this was caused by having multiple orthomosaics generated in different X,Y positions (i.e., I generated one orthomosaic, shifted the model position, then created another orthomosaic). I didn't realize it, but if I zoomed out, I could see a superseded boundary shape that was associated with the original model position. I assume that was causing the issue. Everything works as anticipated after deleting the superseded shapes.

Hope this helps someone!
