problem arose between dense point cloud and orthomosaic
« on: March 11, 2017, 07:44:25 PM »
I am using Photoscan Pro v1.26 and a problem arose between the dense point cloud (attached box0-center-east-dense-point-cloud.jpg) and the orthomosaic (attached box0-center-east-error.jpg). The same problem occurred in two other orthomosaics. The DEMs are also messed up, whether made from a dense point cloud or a mesh.  Is there an option I forgot to select? Any help is appreciated.

Hello Ponder,

What kind of data you've got on input? Do the input images contain the white border?

The original images were about 100 Mb each, and we converted a black area around the photo to be a transparent alpha layer in Adobe Photoshop. For the attachment, I had to scale down the image and convert to a jpeg using GIMP to get the size below the limit.  The camera locations were the center point of the image calculated from a GPS and IMU. However, I did not enter GCPs.  When I was learning Photoscan and using fewer pictures, I had no problem like this.

Hello Ponder,

PhotoScan doesn't automatically load the masks from the Alpha-channel, you need to do that manually using Tools Menu -> Import Masks -> From Alpha option before processing.
