Hello,
Photoscan 1.2.0
I am getting a "Can't write image" and some of the times "Can't build pyramid" on a big project.
It is 3075 pictures took from an airplane vertically for Orthophoto.

Batch went fine, Aligned, Optimized, Dense point created, mesh and texture.
Problem occurs on the Ortho stage, one stage before export. without warning it stops and I get those messages.

Please help.

Intel XEON E5 1620 3.5GHZ
64GB RAM
GTX980

Aligned 7500 points max,
Dense point on lowest.
texture on 4500.
Photos stored on external usb 3.0 hdd

LOG is 26 mb so can't be uploaded here.

Thanks

Hello Fkybarless,

Usually these messages  are related to the insufficient disk space, as the individually orthorectified images and orthomosaic are stored in the .filed folder and for three thousand images a lot of GB are likely required.

I am working on External HDD, has 460gb free space.
On C I had 16 gb free.

You say Photoscan use C not the External HDD which the photos stored on?

Hello Fkybarless,

PhotoScan creates project.files folder next to the project.psx file in the folder where the project itself is saved to.

For the external hard drive please also check the connection, as even short disconnection would lead to the write problem.

It helped, you were right.

But now I got a different issue that you can help me with: how do I export this into one file without splitting? Is there a magic option in the software?

After you've build the ortho mosaic go to file -> export -> Orthomosaic -> TIFF -> and in the export window make sure to uncheck the box for 'split in blocks'

Mind you that the max size for TIFF's is 4GB which is about 33.000x33.000 pixels if I'm not mistaken.

If your area is larger than that with your specified GSD, simply export in blocks and import in software like GlobalMapper and export it as a single "BigTIFF" file.

Hello Fkybarless,

Single GeoTIFF has 4 GB limit for export, whereas JPG allows up to 65535x65535 pixel resolution.

You can use, however, BigTIFF export option for the single file of the big size, but not every application can handle this format.

Can Global Mapper handle BigTiff as exported from agisoft?
Can Photoshop open BigTiff?

Hello yoga pranata,

As mentioned before, this messages can be related either to the lack of free disk space during the orthomosaic generation or to the connection issues, if you have the input data or the processed project files stored on the external/network drives.
