PS 1.3.0 build 3772 (64 bit) hangs in Gradual Selection

When I do Edit/Gradual Selection, and try to switch criterion, PS sometimes hangs. I have had to kill the program twice with exactly the same number of points. (~5 million) while I am trying to pull down the menu to switch from the default criterion (Reprojection error) to, Projection accuracy.

This feature is now much slower than it used to be, and keeps recalculating before the user is done selecting. (For example, when typing values into the dialog box, it will start recalculating as each digit is entered, including zero or blank entries).

Do you see any error messages in the Console pane?

Also please specify the GPU you are using for the OpenGL rendering?

No error messages in the console panel.
Using an NVIDIA Quadro 4000, driver version 9.18.13.4084, 2048 MB GDDR5, CUDA 6.5.18 driver
By "hanging", what I mean is that the dialog box keeps trying to refresh...but does not succeed...so the program toggles between "not responding" and blinking the dialog box.
My workaround has been to save my project before I try "Gradual selection", and to change the order of the criterion I used to select...alhough I have a preferred order that does not start with the default.

I have a huge block witn 7000 images ans about 7mio matched points.
I wand to perform the gradual selection but it simply hangs and I have to hard stop Photoscan.
