Linux: Ubuntu singularity container within RHEL environment

Hi all,

I am quite new to Agisoft and this forum, it’s a fantastic program!

I want to use a Linux machine (which I am also new to) to run some fairly large models (1-5,000 images). The version of Linux is RHEL 6.3 with a slightly older glibc, which will not support agisoft photoscan 1.3.0. We have tried installing glibc 2.15 which should support photoscan, but so far this hasn’t worked out.

So the IT team has been experimenting with singularity containers to run agisoft in a Wily Werewolf Ubuntu environment. We have had it working and I was even able to complete (align, dense, mesh to texture) a very small basic model, but the program consistently crashes after 5-10 minutes (does not appear to be related to certain part of the workflow)

libGL error: failed to open drm device: no such file or directory
libGL error: failed to load driver: nouveau
killed

Despite the two errors (which appear upon launching), agisoft does work – just for a limited time before closing and then “killed”.

Is the Wily Werewolf Ubuntu environment suitable for agisoft?

If so, does anyone have an idea on how to rectify this problem? Is it actually related to the errors?

I have a talk to give soon so am frantically trying to get this working to produce a higher quality reconstruction (with limited Linux knowledge – all above was done by the IT team running the system). Will appreciate any help!

Hello David,

Can you please try running version 1.3.1 - http://www.agisoft.com/downloads/installer/
It should working without a need to install glibc externally.

If possible, please also provide the log related to the crashed operation (you can redirect it to the external file using corresponding option in Preferences).

Thanks for the quick reply.

Will ask the IT group to install 1.3.1 tomorrow and will get back to you. Hopefully this works (and much simpler!)

Will also try and provide the log (can't access the server this evening)

Still not quite working, maybe you have come across these issues before?

Firstly, I tried launching from a windows machine via SSH shell, but no luck – issues with GLX

QXcbIntegration: Cannot create platform OpenGL context, neither GLX nor EGL are enabled
QOpenGLWidget: Failed to create context
composeAndFlush: makeCurrent() failed

Potentially related to mesa libraries, an earlier version helped with glxinfo failure, but no use to photoscan.


Secondly, I tried from a Linux workstation. However, the following messages occurred, the IT team was wondering if the “corrupted double-linked list”  could be a bug? Let me know if the back trace would be useful for you

On an additional note, how can we find out where the license is in use (floating license)?
