Working on multiple period at the same location
« on: April 18, 2017, 12:28:13 PM »
Hi all,

Could someone give advice about the accuracy?

I am trying to compare two periods at the same location, but the first data was created with PhotoScan Ver 1.2.2, and I would like to start processing the second data on the latest Ver 1.3.1, Are there any differences in accuracy?

I understand it should be the same version for sure, but if I don't have to work on the first data, I can save my time.

Thank you!

Toshi

Hi Toshi,

I guess algorithms become more and more robust with PhotoScan development.
Is it a long waste of time for you to re-work on first dataset with 1.3.1 ?
1.2.2 is almost one year old and major changes have been made with 1.3.xx
As well, you might be able to apply exactly the same parameters on your two datasets. The comparision would only become better accurate.

Hi Yoann,

Thank you for your suggestion!

Yeah, I thought that it should be done as you said.
Okay, I will calculate the first dataset again to avoid future troubles.

Thanks to your reply!

Toshi

You're welcome.

Don't forget it exists tools for 4D processing. I personnaly never worked with but if you manage comparision of two periods of the same place you should go deeply through those tools before !

Hello Yoann,

4D would work only with the datasets captured from camera rig, where their relative positions haven't changed. So it is not applicable to aerial surveys.
