Hello Andes and Klaas-
Klaas: Thanks for your review, I remember speaking to you over email regarding the Alaska mining dataset produced at 8cm and you were impressed. It was nice feedback from a geomatics expert such as yourself. It was processed with the raw images, geo-tags, and no pitch/yaw/roll data. We have a 4cm version with our updated algorithms if needed. We are very much a one (or two) man show but we are continuely making improvements to our software and algorithms. We support GCP now but not for the free processing service, so maybe this is where you see the error. The Gatewing Alaska dataset wasn't available to use with GCP, we would be happy to reprocess if we can find the GCP data. We've made a lot of changes since the processing of the Easter Island Dataset with ortho equalization and tie point generation on difficult terrain.
Recently, building a .1 sq km, 1.5cm GSD ortho/dem (wheat field flown at 47m with very hard to detect points/terrain features)
Andes: We would be happy to process your geo-tagged images as a test. You could upload a batch of 25 with the proper overlap and you will get a high resolution ortho, dem, dsm and point cloud returned at no charge. It will be the highest resolution possible based on your original imagery. Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
Regarding your original question: Please see our work with ConversationDrones.org and the recent jungle canopy and orangutan nest transect mapping projects.
Safe flights! Thanks
