SOR filter for dense point cloud
« on: May 17, 2017, 11:53:34 AM »
Hi there, I would like a "SOR Filter" to filtrate stray points and noise in the dense cloud. I use Cloud Compare for this, and theirs is very good!
I prefer Agisoft's mesh generator over Cloud Compare's as well as Agisoft texture.
Alternatively, can you make it possible to import LAS files in to Agisoft, as I prefer to round off my work in Agisoft, but unfortunately the point cloud filter is not that good.

+1 for SOR Filter or any other post created-dense cloud filter.

Not sure if point cloud import would be possible at some point in PS. I guess even dense point cloud is closely linked to pictures, whereas mesh is only a sub-product of a point cloud. So point cloud import would suggest no linked with pictures and transform PS into a 3D point cloud processing software such as CC or 3DReshaper.

Let's wait for Alexey opinion :)

Very good filtering solution can be found in lastools - lasnoise http://www.cs.unc.edu/~isenburg/lastools/download/lasnoise_README.txt. The author of this program has prepared some guides for data processing from UAV and get great results https://rapidlasso.com/category/photogrammetry/. We need some filtering outliers tool in point cloud.

LasTools is a impressive tools...but the problems is that PS don't allow to reimport processing cloud point, so you must create a DEM with a external software (I use ERDAS Image). If in the future PS allow reimport CP this thing will be a game changer feature...
