ECW export
« on: May 24, 2017, 10:30:30 AM »
It would be very handy if you added ECW-export as an option in Photoscan. The filesize is much smaller than the regular image format and typical GIS softwares loves ECW compared to JPG/TIFF etc.....

I have to second this. An .ecw ortho export option would be really helpful. I have pretty much my entire workflow automated except for the creation of .ecw's. I'm having to use global mapper to do this.

+1 from here as well. We tend to convert exported tiffs to ECW in Globalmapper for better handling of data in CAD, GIS, etc. Directly in Agisoft would be awesome.

Bump! Autocad can not handle the "big geotiffs" that Agisoft produces. However with the addition of the .ecw plugin, large images load without any issue. Being able to directly produce .ECW's would greatly help in the integration of photoscan to our design workflow.

But I think it's probelmatic because of licensing issues with ecw.
You need a special license to write ecw's directly...
For me it's not a big deal, we have FME to translate any raster to ecw...

While ECW format is not yet implemented, we can suggest to use JPEG2000 format as an alternative option to ECW.

Hello team Metashape, is there a prediction for this feature to be implemented?

ECW is gone open as patents has expired so no more need stick to JPEG2000.
