Need help: Everything but my model.
« on: August 09, 2017, 12:25:43 AM »
I've been trying to make a model from a geometric shape.  Every time I attempt to shoot photos and run Photoscan Pro it gives me a model that skips the geometric shape.  In this most recent shoot (photos attached) it only gives me the green base that I put the object on.  What can I do better?

first you shouldn't have shadows in your pictures and try to have all the background behind the object be green or any other color than it and then use the mask from alpha channel masking method. These are the first things to try.... also make sure all your object is sharp in all of the pictures... depth of filed effects are unwanted!
Your object is also very difficult as it it extremely thin and basically all white making it hard to model and detect.... if you can, give it a texture.... color it or whatever...

Thats all for now

Hello projectileobjects,

I also think that the reconstruction problem is related to the thin structure of the object and the lack of the texture on it's elements.

You can try to add the texture to the object (if possible to use the paint or some color spray on it); shoot more close up images, providing sufficient focal depth; use Mild filtering option during the dense cloud generation.
