hey everyone, for my internshop in remote sensing i have to build orthophotos out of historical aerial photos downloaded from the USGS. i have a workflow that works very well but i have a few questions about some issues im dealing with.
1. when im building mesh sometimes the mesh "outgrows" from the area of interest and deforms my orthophoto. How can i fix this or how can i prevent this outgrowth? Why is this outgrowth happen?
2. When im georeferencing is it normal that some areas are not perfectly georeferenced even though i have an Error(m) under 0,0xxxx with over 10 GCP's after optimizing camera? Maybe it is because of the outgrowth?
3. what is the reprojection error doing? (It was part of the workflow to make some gradual selection and delete points with reproj. error over 1)
4. i had some test gopro (fishlens) datasets and i was trying to build an orthophoto. unfortunatelly we have no gcps, so i georeferenced it only with geotagged camera positions (which was not recommended, i know). we just want to have an approx. location of the mosaic and of course the adjustment of the final pixelsize. we planned to georef it in QGIS after the mosaic is build and loaded. because of the fishlens there are like triangle/pyramid borders. is it possible to make it a straight border (like a normal foto)
I think usually my results are good, but when something goes wrong i have no explanation for it, so i would really appreciate your help!
regards
Hoang
