optimization of network computing times

Hello everyone,

I'm working on a very big project with several thousand photos. I built a network of 15 machines.
I have 3 questions that I will need advice on.
1) I try to optimize my calculation time.
The photos are on a server. We use 1GB cards on our 15 machines. The transfer rate is 800MB / s.
If we switch to 10GB cards, will the transfer rate be higher?
2) What do you think is the best network architecture for 15 machines?
3) Where are the temporary files created on the server?
