Any fast way to align chunks?
« on: October 18, 2012, 01:21:50 AM »
Hello all

This is a little urgen for my school project for tomorrow.
This is my first experience with this software on large models.

I have 6 aligned chunks and need to align them together, but this is taking forever.
I thought this part of the process would be faster. It seems like the software is now aligning all the images together, as if the aligned chunks are not even taken into account?

Do you have any advice for me? Manual align somehow perhaps?

Thanks

if each individual chunk was aligned separately and you are satisfied with that (provided that you apply GC data) then there is no huge need to align chunck all together. From my experience it could spoil the party. So ... just merge them (but don't merge models). Then build geometry for the merged chunk.
Experiment with optimization at the resulting chunk but, again from my experience, that could give unpredictable result (in my case in was a huge shift)
