Input File of Photographs

Quote
Enter the file name of the file containing the photogrammetric observations (photographs).

Because block adjustment can not be performed without photogrammetric measurements, the file name of the input file of photographs must always be entered.

The input file of photographs must be an ASCII-file with formatted sequential access records. Each record is followed by carriage return/line feed characters.

Definitions:

1.   The image data are read in with formatted read statements, thus all data read with the same format must use the same number of characters in the same position. The user can define all formats. The program allows different formats for photo numbers and photogrammetric observations. Leading and trailing zeros may be omitted. All blanks (spaces) within this position are interpreted as zeros.
2.   The photographs consist of at least one photograph. The sequence of the photographs on the input file is arbitrary. All photographs have to start with a photo number on one line.

3.   On the lines after the photograph number must be the photogrammetric observations consisting of a point number, two co-ordinates and a standard deviation set number. Each photogrammetric observation must be on a separate line. The sequence of all the image points within the photograph is arbitrary.
4.   All photographs have to end with the end-of-photograph symbol -99.
5.   An end of file character or the list of planimetric control points or the end-of-block symbol -999 must follow the last photograph.

6.   All photogrammetric observations of image points and terrain observations of control points referring to the same terrain point must have the same unique point number.
7.   The point numbers must be different for all points within the same photograph. The photo numbers must be different for all photographs. The number -99 is not permitted as point number. The numbers -9 and -999 are not permitted as photo numbers.
8.   Observations with different accuracy can be used as different accurate by assigning different standard deviation set numbers after the co-ordinates. Each standard deviation set number represents specific user defined accuracy

9.   Photo numbers and point numbers must belong to the range of integer values between -2,147,483,648 and 2,147,483,647.
10.   Co-ordinates are used as double precision values with 52-bit significance, representing approximately 16 decimal digits. Standard deviation set numbers must belong to the range of not negative integer values less than 30.

Format for Photo Numbers

Specify (Iw, Fw.d) resp. (Iw, Fw.d, Iw) for format directed input or (*) for list directed input.

Specifications for list-directed input:

A format is not specified for input. The requested number of values, separated by value separators is read in.

A value separator is one of the following:

1.   A comma preceded and followed by any number of blanks.
2.   A slash preceded and followed by any number of blanks. A slash as a value separator terminates the execution of the input statement. The remaining input items in the input list will be assigned a zero value.
3.   Any number of blanks between two values is treated as value separator.

Specifications for format-directed input:

In order to read your input file; you have to specify the format of your data to perform the data transfer correctly. Requested is a format string within brackets to read the photo number, the focal length and in case self-calibration is applied the group number of the parameters to be applied for this photograph. Photograph number and group number of the parameter group are always integer values; the focal length is read in as double precision value. If a common focal length is assigned to the photographs in the PATB MENU a zero or a 1 replaces the focal length.

Use a combination of field descriptors as stated below to specify the proper format:

rIw   Describes integer data fields
rFw.d   Describes real data fields
nX   Indicates that characters have to be skipped on input
/   Indicates that the next (not the present) line should be read
kP   denotes a scale factor to shift the decimal point in your input file.

r is an optional unsigned nonzero repeat count. If r is omitted, the field descriptor is used once.

w is an unsigned nonzero integer constant specifying the width of the data field.

d is an unsigned integer constant specifying the number of places to the right of the decimal point.

n is an unsigned nonzero integer constant denoting the displacement.

k is an optionally signed integer constant denoting the shift ( k > 0 shift to left, k < 0 shift to right ).

Example:

000000000111111111122222222223333333333444444444455555555556

Format for Image Points

Specify (Iw, 2Fw.d, Iw) for format directed input or (*) for list directed input.

In order to read your input file, you have to specify the format of your data to perform the data transfer correctly.

Requested is a format string within brackets to read the photogrammetric observations. This format defines the position and number of characters used for point numbers, co-ordinates and standard deviation set numbers and the end-of-photo symbol ?9, which must be in the format of point numbers. Point numbers and standard deviation set numbers are supposed to be integer values, co-ordinates are treated as real values. Use a combination of field descriptors to specify the proper format:

See chapter 'Format for Photo Numbers' for detailed description of format specifications.

Sequence of Co-ordinates of Image Points

Requested is the sequence of x and y-co-ordinates of the image points in your input file.

The standard order of the values for the co-ordinates of image points is point number, x and y.

This sequence of the co-ordinates might be different (but must then be consistently different) in your input file. By means of the entered sequence, the program will rearrange the co-ordinates into the standard order. A rearrangement of the co-ordinates might also be necessary to change a left-handed co-ordinate system into a right-handed one and vice versa in order to obtain compatibility of your image point system and object point system.

Input File of Control Points (and GPS)

Quote
Enter the file name of the file containing the non-photogrammetric observations (control points).Because block adjustment can not be performed without control points, the file name of the input file of control points must always be entered. If the control points are on the same file as the photographs you have to enter the same file name.

Generally the program requests for two separate lists of control points, the first contains the horizontal control points and the second the vertical control points.

The input file of control points must be an ASCII-file with formatted sequential access records. Each record is followed by carriage return/line feed characters.

Definitions:

1.   The lists of control points are read in with formatted read statements, thus all data read with the same format must use the same number of characters in the same position. The user can define all formats.
2.   The program allows different formats for horizontal and vertical control points. These formats define the position and number of characters used for point numbers, co-ordinates and standard deviation set numbers. Leading and trailing zeros may be omitted. All blanks (spaces) within this position are interpreted as zeros.

3.   The photo number 0 used for both lists of control points must be in the same format as all photo numbers of photographs. Every list of control points must start with the special photo number 0 on one line.
4.   On the next lines of both lists there must be the control points consisting of a point number and 2 planimetric co-ordinates within the list of horizontal control points or a point number and one height co-ordinate within the list of vertical control points. The co-ordinates are followed by a standard deviation set number.

5.   Each control point must be on a separate line. The sequence of the control points within the same list is arbitrary.
6.   Both lists have to end with the end-of-photo symbol -99.
7.   Control points referring to the same terrain point as any photogrammetric observations must have the same unique point number, thus a horizontal and vertical control point must have the same point number in both lists and in all photographs. The point numbers must be different for all points within the same list of control points.

8.   The number -99 is not permitted as point number. The maximum number of control points in one list is restricted to the program version.
9.   Different control points can be treated with different accuracy in the adjustment. Control points with different accuracy must be marked as different accurate by introducing a different standard deviation set number after the co-ordinates. Each standard deviation set number represents specific user defined accuracy. Standard deviation set number 0 is interpreted as set number 1.

10.   The point numbers of control points must belong to the range of integer values between 2,147,483,648 and 2,147,483,647. Co-ordinates can be used with a 52-bit significant value, representing approximately 16 decimal digits. Standard deviation set numbers must belong to the range of not negative integer values less than 40.

Format for Horizontal Control

Specify (Iw, 2Fw.d, Iw) for format directed input or (*) for list directed input.

In order to read your input file, you have to specify the format of your data to perform the data transfer correctly. Requested is a format string within brackets to read the horizontal control points. This format defines the position and number of characters used for point numbers, 2 co-ordinates and standard deviation set numbers and the end-of-photo symbol -99 which must be in the format of the point numbers.

The photo number 0 used for the list of horizontal control points must be in the same format as all photo numbers.

Point numbers and standard deviation set numbers are supposed to be integer values, co-ordinates are treated as real values.

Input File for Exterior Orientation Parameters

Quote
Enter the file name of the file containing the approximate values of the exterior orientation parameters.

The bundle adjustment method requests for approximate values of the exterior orientation parameters. If no file name is entered, the program assumes that no orientation parameters are available. It then will calculate the approximate values automatically before the first iteration step using one planimetric adjustment with simplified linearization of the observational equations (Helmert transformation) and one iteration step in height with a shift in z only.

As soon as good initial values for the parameters of the exterior orientation are available (e.g. out of preceding adjustment) they can be used as approximate values. The closer they are to the final values the less iteration steps are necessary to reach the final result.

The input file of orientation parameters must be an ASCII-file with formatted sequential access records. Each record is followed by carriage return/line feed characters.

There must be exactly one set of orientation parameters for each photograph. The sequence of photographs however is arbitrary.

The orientation parameters must consist of the photo number, the 3 co-ordinates of the perspective center and the rotation matrix column by column in the following fixed format, which corresponds to the output format of additional output of exterior orientation parameters:

(I16,16X,3F16.5,/,5F16.12,/,4F16.12).

The program will read exactly as many sets of orientation parameters as photographs have been read in.
