Skip the alignment
« on: October 29, 2017, 11:29:39 AM »
Hi everyone,
can you please help or send me the topic which is similar to my question.

Is it possible to skip the align photos if I have the exact position of camera when the images were taken? It is a multicamera system and I have the position of cameras between each other.

Kind Regards

Martin

Hi Martin,

You'll still need to run the ALIGN PHOTOS step because this step generates your sparse point cloud (= tie points), which is needed for all the subsequent processing steps. Note that ALIGN PHOTOS is not only computing the position, but also the orientation for each image.

Enable Pair preselection: REFERENCE when you have exact camera positions available. This will help to accelerate the photo alignment.

Hi Martin,
we are probably sharing a similar problem, I've just posted these two questions:

to SAV,
I don't know about Martin, but I cannot perform the align photos process because my cameras are in panoramic configuration

I would like to perform a points-based chunks alignment, each chunk containing 4 photos (panoramic configuration) of which I know relative position, relative orientation and the camera calibration
