Photoscan version 1.3.4.5067 unusable
« on: October 31, 2017, 12:55:26 AM »
Ever since updating to the latest version of Photoscan Version 1.3.4.5067 the program has been unusable.
I have an educational licence for the professional version.

With a new project I am able to import and align photos.  I can import ground control point coordinates but when I click on the photos to create a marker the program freezes for everything apart from the toolbar.  If I open an old project the program freezes when trying to open the DEM in the workspace.

I am running a Dell Inspiron gaming laptop: i7 Processor, Windows 10 Home, 16GB memory, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, GTX 1050 Ti and IPS diplay.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Stretch,

Please check for solution in the similar thread: http://www.agisoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=7556.msg36560#msg36560
Another possible reason of the freezes is Nahimic application, that we suggest to disable when working with PhotoScan.

I agree and recommend removing 1.3.4 from beeing able to download.

Photoscan pro 1.3.4 build 5067(64bit)  was crashing twice when Aligning photos/Selecting pairs...

First time the whole computer froze! had to Power off!!!

second time: "Photoscan stopped working"

Now I have tried the -angle workaround.

Log from last crash:

Hello eriks,

It seems to be a different issue unrelated to the original topic.

In your case I can suggest to check if the processing goes fine on CPU only (disable all GPUs in the Preferences), it should give an idea, whether the issues are related to GPU.

Hello eriks,

From which version is this log 1.3.4 or earlier? Also what happens if you install latest NVIDIA drivers?

And if possible, please also check if there is any usage by other applications of your GPU (you can check it via NVIDIA SMI utility).

hi, this log was from version 1.3.4. Dont want to touch the NVIDIA drivers du to other programs on the same PC.
Going back to an older version of Photoscan fixed the issue, so there are some bugs most likely.

have a nice weekend!

Hello Erik,

What is the previous version that works fine?

Computer freezes and hard crashes (reboot, BSOD) are usually related to hardware issues.

Thank you for additional information. The problem seems to be driver-related, but we'll check, if we could implement some workaround on our side.
