Optimal settings for drone aerial photos
« on: October 18, 2017, 06:44:08 AM »
Hey everyone,

I am working on a project for one of my classes and need some help choosing optimal settings for photoscan.  The photos were taken from a drone at 90 degrees from the ground and there are about 100 photos.  any suggestions for the settings I should run the photos at?

It depends on what you are planning to do.

But first: your photos were taken with overlap?

Hi kap10,

One of my previous posts might be useful for you:

Note that not only the processing settings are important to achieve good results, but also the camera settings (ISO, shutter speed, white balance, etc) as well as your survey design/layout (forward overlap, side overlap, etc). High quality photogrammetric modelling results can only be achieved with high quality imagery.
Garbage in - garbage out principle ;-)
