Right camera positions but slight offset in 3dsmax
« on: December 14, 2017, 07:40:49 PM »
I got a quite good camera alignment of a drone flight made out of 47 images.
But when i import the scan+cams in 3dsmax, there is a slight offset between the rendering and the corresponding drone image in the background (render size of course equals the drone image size), which means that the perspectives are allright, all lines are parallel to the drone image ones, but they don't overlay correctly.
So i render it, take it to Photoshop, move it up a bit and it fits perfectly. This works equally with all 47 cams.

Drone is a DJI Phantom 4 FC330.  With a DSLR the scans come out of Photoscan fitting the background without any problems.

Any ideas where this issue comes from and how to fix it in Photoscan or 3dsmax directly (depending on where the error sneaks in)?

Thank you

Hello Link3D,

Maybe you need to export undistorted images from PhotoScan and use them in 3DS Max for rendering?

Hah, worked perfectly!

I also tested it with one of the DSLR photos and in that case the distorted photo looked exaxtly like the original.
So that was why i had not to fix the DSLR scan.

Thank you very much for the quick answer!
