Chunk info - Reprojection error (v1.4 b5650)
« on: January 07, 2018, 08:55:16 PM »
[EDIT: it appears to be related to the particular chunk created in an older version, I think 1.2.6, so this is all about backwards compatibility]

I think that you might need to update page 42 of the manual (even though I prefer the old format of the processing report)
http://www.agisoft.com/pdf/photoscan-pro_1_4_en.pdf

the chunk info now reports:
Reprojection error   0.42627 (1.00759 max) {on the report pdf these values are in pixel units}
instead of (if I remember it correctly):
Reprojection error   0.42627 (1.00759 pixels)
max error   0.42627 (1.00759 pixels)

It's either that or there's a problem with my project (which I cannot share, unfortunately)
as the gradual selection doesn't seem to be able to estimate/filter on the projection accuracy

thanks

Hello n@sk,

Are you sure that you are using version 1.4.0 for the report generation? I've just generated a report from some random project using latest build and got the following:
Quote
RMS reprojection error 0.145718 (0.434067 pix)
Max reprojection error 0.438747 (18.3398 pix)

As for the Projection Accuracy - it's stored in the project only some certain versions of PhotoScan, so old projects do not contain this information. In principle, you can try to rebuild the point cloud (Tools Menu -> Build Points) in order to generate new matching points with additional statistics.

Thanks Alexey

All I was saying was that a chunk created in a previous version with all the statistics became corrupted and I discovered this in v1.4.
RMS and Projection accuracy somehow disappeared for that chunk
