yaw, pitch and roll Information
« on: February 02, 2018, 02:27:51 PM »
Hello!

Does Phantom 4 Pro record yaw, pitch and roll information in its photo? So When I import it in Agisoft Photoscan it will be shown there?

Currently I can not see this information. because of this, sometimes my model is rotated.

Please Have a look at my Screenshot.

Hello keyable,

You can try to enable "Load camera orientation from XMP meta" option in the advanced tab of Preferences dialog and then reload the images to the project.

Thank you for your information!

Do you recommend me to ALWAYS enable this option? Will I have better results with it?

Also Should I turn on "Load Camera Location Accuracy from XMP meta Data" and "Load GPS/INS offset from XMP meta data"? what do they mean?

Regards  :)

Hello keyable,

That depends if the data is accurate or not.

Usually this information is not required for PhotoScan and the model can be georeferenced based on the camera location coordinates only. The incorrect information for the orientation angled, however, may cause the georeferencing errors, so even if you are loading the orientation angles I could suggest to use lower value for "camera accuracy (deg)" parameter in the Reference pane settings dialog (like thousands of degrees) - it would practically disable the camera orientation angles information from the utilization for georeferencing/optimization procedures.

Hello kayable,

Are you using camera orientation angles for the goereferencing? Is the result better, when you remove the orientation angles from the Reference pane and press Update button on the pane's toolbar?
