Trackball/Calculation Coordinatesystem
« on: February 26, 2018, 02:21:34 PM »
Hello!

There is a new bug in version 1.4.0 ad 1.4.1, i think.
First of all: If i load my photos into photoscan and view them from the front by the shortcut, i get the image (1) you can see in the attachements. The photos are all in one plane, as they should be, because i shot them with the drone from a determinated altitude. But the alignment of the Trackball seems oddly off.
Shouldn't the trackballs blue line already be aligned with the level of the photos in this stage?

Well this wouldn't annoy me, but as it seems, this also interferes with the calculation. (Btw. I'm using WGS 84)
When the photos are aligned, the point cloud seems to be calculated right, but its orientation is not correct (2)
Also the calculated errors are too high. And now, when i view the model by for example front-shortcut again, the trackball is aligned, as it should be.

Is this a bug, or am doing something wrong?
This project with the exact same photos worked out in the older version (i think 1.3.5)

Thank you for your help!

Hello Stunnline,

Can you provide the report file from this project?

Hey Alexey,

thank you for that quick answer!
You can download the reports from the old/new project file under the following link:
https://nextcloud.th-deg.de/s/fsMft1vh1WbsoXn
Sorry, the storage in the attachements is to low for the pdf files.

This problem also occurs on other, newer projects.

Hello Stunnline,

In the new report I can see that the camera orientation angles are loaded to the Reference pane, but do seem to be incorrect and affect the referencing result. I can suggest to modify the "Camera accuracy (deg)" value in the Reference pane settings dialog to 2000, for example, and then press Update button on the pane's toolbar.

Hey Alexey!

Thank you very much, it works now. As it seems the older Version of Agisoft did not import that data.
My Drone is only saving yaw, pitch and roll for the camera (without relation to the drone)
Do you have any suggestions, how i can use that data?

Best Regards.

Hello Stunnline,

Automatic loading of yaw, pitch, roll information can be enabled in the Advanced Preferences tab - Load Camera Orientation from XMP meta-data. (PhotoScan 1.4 reads this information from Yuneec drone images).

Can you provide the screenshots of the Source and Estimated values of the orientation angles? (beforehand, modify the rotation angles accuracy as said above and press Update button).

Hello Alexey,

ahh, alright.
Pressing the update button after setting the accuracy does not do anything except resetting the view.
But if i align the photos again, it works :)
As you can see, the source data only contains the orientation of the camera relative to the drone.

Agisofts interpretation of Yaw, Pitch an Roll is another one. I already contacted Yuneec about that.
For a correct calculation i would need the absolute orientation of the camera, right?
