Bad results with newest version
« on: April 21, 2020, 12:58:46 AM »
Hello,

I recreated a 3d model with the newest version today (1.62)
Now i have errors of more than 50 cm on my gcps, is there a problem with this new version?

Greetings

Hello dronesurveyconsultancy,

I think some additional information regarding the issue is required.

Please provide the processing parameters used for alignment and optimization stages, specify if you have used cameras and/or markers for referencing (which accuracy values were used) and whether you are checking the final accuracy directly in Metashape via control or check points, or in any external application?

Alexey,

I have aligned my project on high, 120000 keypo limit.

After the alignment i filtered the pointcloud:
-first i optimised cameras with: FIt F k1 k2 k3 cxcy p1 p2
-uncertainty = 10 + optimize camera
-projection accuracy: 2.5 + optimize cameras

then i optimezed all cameras with all corrections and added my gcp's + marked them in all pictures

i filtered 1 more time : reprojection error:0.35

Then i deselected all cameras and run optimezed with all corrections and only gcp.

The result was huge errors on all GCP's see attached marker result.

When i processed the same project on the older version i had errors of 0.02 cm on all markers.

The accuracy was checked only in metashape.

Accuracy of pictures is on standard 10 m and of gcp =0.005

Using coordinate system: 31370 lambert 72 belgium

Greetings

According to the screenshots there are a different number of markers in each project, and different numbers of projections for each marker.

In your workflow description you state that you added and marked the GCPs after alignment, so presumably you placed the GCPs manually on both occasions (which would already introduce scope for a difference between the two).

The marker with the greatest error by far in your 1.6.2 project is 2102, which now has 11 projections as opposed to only 6 in the original project.

Could it be that some of those 11 projections are misplaced? Or if you disregard this marker altogether do the errors improve?

Sorry i don't have anything more technical to offer, but often simple things can get overlooked!

Hello dronesurveyconsultancy,

Can you send both projects in PSZ format with only alignment and optimization results to support@agisoft.com, so that we could check them?
