Field Calibration
« on: February 28, 2018, 05:07:43 PM »
Hello everybody!

Has anyone here tried field calibration for cameras? I know there's a technique when you set up on the ground a big quantity of GCPs, georeference model using all of them, and then use turned out calibration parameters for other scans.

Has anyone try it? Have you managed to achieve a good result?

The problem with this method is that weather conditions will change the intrinsic values of the camera model and lens parameters, making your first calibration set less valuable.
