What is undistorted image?
« on: April 01, 2018, 07:26:07 PM »
I am new to PhotoScan. What is undistorted image and what can be done using it? Is it the same image that was input into the system to do the photogrammetry? If not, how it is different from the original image and is it possible to transform a point on the original image to its undistorted image? Thank you.

Lenses are not perfect, thus straight lines do not appear to be straight due to barrel distortion for example.
Photoscan models these distortions and is able to undistort the original images.
If you are using a fisheye lens you can get the images to look more "normal"
or you might want to export the result to another application that only supports a simpler interior orientation model.
