iPad Model Viewer
« on: November 13, 2012, 09:44:37 PM »
Would it be possible to have an app to display 3D PDFs? or some other form of the DEM with photo draped over it?

Is there a roundabout way to do it now?

This would be great for marketing, and a handy reference when going to conferences and client meeting to discuss the project.

Decimate the model to 2,000,000 faces. Save it as .ply. Use MeshLab for ios to view.

You can also use Meshlab to color the ploys from the obj's texture, if you want it pseudo-textured. You'll need to do that before you transfer it to MeshPad.

Here is an example of using Meshlab even for iPhone to display 3d-models: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPJ1mc-xh-g
