export of ortopicture of solid view
« on: November 30, 2012, 11:37:19 AM »
I would very much like to export ortopictures of the solid view of models - or lets put it like this, ortophoto without texture. Is it possible to pragram that? I think the solid view is very helpfull for making drawings over the pictures. It is certainly also much more suited for automatic tracing softwares.
Thanks!
Sven

You could do this in Meshlab (meshlab.sourceforge.net) using the orthogonal views and the snapshot function. You can increase the screen multplier to get higher resolution but you can't set a specific px/mm scale.

Alternatively use an orthographic camera and render an ambient occlusion pass in Blender (www.blender.org).

Neither of these softwares are particularly intuitive the first time you look at them though, probably Meshlab is the best one to start with. Both are free!

Hi James
Thank you very much! I have already worked a little with meshlab and I will try what you have suggested. It would still be great to have this function in Photoscan.
Best wishes
Sven
