I need some help aligning photos.
« on: May 28, 2018, 10:58:02 AM »
So, I don't know what I'm doing differently, but since upgrading from the trial version, I can't get photos to align anymore.
I get maximum of 2-3 photos aligned and the results are horrible.

I must be doing something wrong.

Can someone please have a look at my project and let me know where I'm going wrong?

This is one of 7 objects I've tried with many different setups.
I've tried more camera angles, less angles. I've tried fixed camera with rotating object, I've tried fixed object with orbiting camera. I've tried many different objects and lighting setups.
I'm definitely using masks to isolate the object.

I'm starting to think it's not my photography. Maybe something in the photos metadata?

I'm using version Standard 1.4.2 build 6205 (64 bit).

I have attached the project to this post.
Here is a link to download the images I'm working with. https://sendto.stwgroup.com.au/message/UncHoOznyxXmec56yk1lJT

Pleaseeee help!!!

maybe lowering the quality of the aligment could help, I have had results doing this and it is recommended in other places as far as I remember.

That's the first thing I always try. And unfortunately it doesn't help.

Hello 5rob,

I think you need to have more images, I can suggest 2 circles with 20-30 images each, for example, with 35 and 15 degrees inclination from the horizontal. It would provide better overlap then non-uniform shooting. Also reduce the ISO to minimal possible values. If the lighting conditions are not good, then use a tripod for camera stability.
