Set the price however you like it. In our case (which does not seem to be the same as yours despite your protestations and "pay-it-forward" speeches), we were really trying to offer a service to the community. If I recall we even discounted your job by a significant amount.

Let's keep in mind what you just said in your last post in this forum thread:

JUST because im not want go down and create competition, im set i so that if one of us is overloaded or with long reconstruction front that the other can help clients and not steal clients.....

Let's take a look at this email which I saw only because a potential "client" accidentally contacted you from the forums looking for us. When he eventually emailed us your response was still there in the email thread.

Client's Email:
Hello,

I follow the Agisoft's Forum and would like to know if in this e-mail I could talk to Mr. Wishgranter. My interest is in data processing using the Workstation presented by N.Purple (http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=650.0).

I await your response

What was your response?

Wishgranter's Email Reply:
Hello contact him here [my-email]

Im personaly will have even better workstation for processing data, a 2x8 core 2,7 GHZ with 256 GB RAM   - up to 384 GB in few weeks - , currently im awaiting delivery of RAM modules and GPUs... price will be even litle better.....

We will be operational in max 7 days.....

Will you need frequently need reconstruct data ? becasue we will give progressive prices to returrning clients.....

To me this doesn't seem much in line with your altruistic, community-loving, spiel. To me, it sounds a bit tacky and yes, as one poster pointed out: cut-throat. I almost emailed you about this email thread that I wasn't supposed to see at the time then but decided to let it slide until seeing this post.

Anyway, our contribution of services to you and the rest of community was really just that. Currently we're too busy and frankly this whole situation has soured us somewhat on wanted to help.

N. Purple, please think little bit and read what im have posted in last one. The one mentioned earlier..

Service to community, STILL can help the community or not ????? something happen that cannot serve to community ??

What you will do when few other come here with same service ? 20 of us ?? same comment to them ?????? will start killing us eventually ?? :-)  Remember, sooner or later AGISOFT team will have NET reconstruction ready for us all, so our workstation will be not necessary even for biggest projects what will you do then ?? shoot them too ??

The discount was not there as im know, it was 18 hours of work +-1 hour so what a discount ?? see precisely the job what it was.... in that PSZ as im have, could NOT read reconstruction time, have nothing replied about it ( if needed will search for it )

Response, and say him something he should wait for our ws ? no, im pointed him back to you and have posted in that forum that im was happy with the speed and etc of that setup :-)

Showing personal emails, hmm interesting PR for clients how you handle privacy.....
Yes, have pointed that will have it AND ???
price even better = as mentioned earlier my decision was NOT to get in price war, it should be ready for everyone, and as you know sometimes someone ask very QUICK reconstruction so price would be same.....

Have asked for one clients if you have free queue ? he need to process it in just few hours but it could be not realized ( long story short ) remember ?? So im doing something bad to you ?? uff....

And please think deeper about my last comment, my primary goal was to help  students to start use pscan in effective way for 0,0 USD, with all my knowlege and processing power for free and no pay for my hours need to explain things in detail, because im happy that they are happy and progress in their school projects......

Im could say and ask more things but..........

Please start behave like adult and not like 15 year old boy please, if want something use PM or send me a email to muzeumhb@gmail.com or use SKYPE......

Hi,
I have eight images taken professional by full size plane using Wild 15/4 UAG camera, once scanned the images are approximately 15000 pixels by 15000 pixels square. Have you ever processed images like this? I'm interested to know the time required and best way to get you the imagery.
Thanks.
C

Hello, if can just upload it somewhere for tests.....
How is it with EXIF info, can you align at least this set of images ?

I resized the images to 20% their original size and was able to align the images. There is overlap in them as it was flown to support traditional photogrammetry methods. I'm just interested to see how good of a 3D model can be generated using this software.

I have a camera calibration file for it but I doubt photoscan supports this .cam type.

Just want to get this in here before I have to dip, only post able to make right now.

Planning on working with our own Nvidia Quadro K6000 Powered Workstation (using a secondary card un-chosen yet ; from Nvidia) with 150GB of RAM (of course plans to grow & expand) as of right now.

12 Core @ 3.9Ghz....

Hi all,

We have recently set up a 16 core @ 3.54Ghz, with 256GB memory and a Titan. I want to ensure this is properly optimized; does anyone have any tips?

It doesn't appear to be using all of the memory where I had expected it to, even in large data sets. I am running two seats simultaneously with 550-650 images@21mp at the moment: the CPUs are pinned for most of the time, but I have yet to see a need for more than about 90GB of memory.

Thoughts? Is there a better thread for this subject?

With all due respect to those who think otherwise, as the program continues to improve, it will make more optimal use of memory, and will require less memory, more advanced photogrammetry software handle thousands of images of a size greater than 96 megapixel, with only 32 GB of RAM. If you look closely at the evolution of Agisoft, with each new version of the program optimizes the use of resources and less memory is required.

Diego

yes this is not the best way to ask for help with it, but, contact me with email. send me complete info on the PC and will see what i can do.
Just one thing, we have discussed it here, AMD solution is much faster as NVIDIA in AGISOFT sw..... when i compare it, then same "comparable" NVIDIA card is 50% slower as AMD. Hard to say about Titan, have not seen results of our benchmark what can be found in forum.....

RAM is never enough :-D

Hello friends,

I have a question about the speed improvment of Xeon process on "Matching point".
My old system is 1 pcs i7 3770k with amd7970 and 32GB ram.
The matching point for 60 photo will take 40 minutes.

But when I upgrade the system to two Xeon E5-2687W with amd 7970 and 64GB ram,
the matching point time is same to the old 3770k system.

Anyone know the reason? Why 2 pcs 8 core Xeon get same to the single 4 core I7 system?
Are there any setup should be done on  Xeon system?

Thank you so much!
Blmvnew

Hi blmvnew

the speed in Alignment step is a bit worse, but only under Windows ( whatever version ) if you use LINUX you should get interesting speedup. Try the Ubuntu LINUX instal and report your times on the benchmark scene...... AGI team work on this issue, but it need a bit time that it can be fast under Win too...

Hi all,
dont worry about your projects and possible price. Mostly is the price under 30 EUR for the project, and can help with  proper settings and stuff around it....

Wishgranter,

We have some larger projects where your service sounds like it might be very useful. Can you send me your email so we can discuss the details?
