Can't mesh imported points
« on: June 29, 2018, 09:50:06 PM »
I've imported some points from a .pts file that was saved out of Recap. When I try to mesh the points, I get a "Null Point Cloud" error and can't continue.

Note that I saw in another thread that you need to encompass some of your imported points with a transform region. I've done that, but still get the error.

Anything else I should be doing?

Using Pro 1.4.2 build 6205 on win10.

Hello mwendell,

Try to use the extrapolated option, providing that imported cloud is inside the bounding box.

Sorry - none of those options are available in the Build Mesh dialog. When I select Arbitrary (3d) type, the only options available are Quality and Calculate Vertex Colors. Everything else is grayed out.

Hello mwendell,

You have experimental meshing method switched on. Please turn it off in the Advanced Preferences tab (see "visibility consistent mesh generation" option), since this method is basing on the depth maps and you cannot generate any without aligned cameras.

After that you'll have "dense cloud" as a source option in the Build Mesh dialog.

Hah! That's all it was!

Thanks. Meshing running now.
