Bounding box orientation
« on: July 09, 2018, 01:38:58 PM »
Hello,

in which position i have to orient the red side of the bounding box in a height field reconstruction? At page 15 of the "Agisoft PhotoScan_User Manual_Professional Edition, Version 1.2" i read:
"If the Height field reconstruction method is to be applied, it is important to control the position of the red side of the bounding box: it defines reconstruction plane. In this case make sure that the bounding box is correctly oriented."
Does it means under or above the model? Onestly i guess above but i would have a confirmation.
Thank you,

P.

Hello p_pzz,

For Height Field mesh generation option it is necessary to have the colored side of the bounding box under the model. So for aerial survey type it would be the opposite side from the cameras.

If you have properly georeferenced the model, then using Reset Region option will automatically set the colored side of the working volume box under the surface and parallel to the XY plane according to the georeferencing information.

Hello,
Thank you for the clear answer.
Unfortunately i don't have the possibility to accurately georeferencing the model because i'm elaborating "historical" underwater videos and i don't reliable control points to do it. But now i'm sure about bounding box orientation.
Thank you again. :)
Best wishes.
