Frequent crashes with Photoscan Pro 1.4.3

Hello,

I experience very frequent crashes with Photoscan Pro 1.4.3 build 6488 (64 bits). It happens whatever the processing I do. The last one was during a build dense cloud (see log attached).

Hello FredR,

Does the problem persist, if you disable Intel HD graphic card in GPU preferences tab, thus disabling its utilization in processing?

Also which NVIDIA driver you have installed?

Indeed, I disabled the intel GPU and no more crashes for now.
The NVIDIA driver version is 24.21.13.9836.

I'm with same problem. I'm using AMD Pitcairn. The problem happens during dense cloud processing in many chunks.

Please provide the processing log related to the crashes and specify the AMD driver and OS version.

Can you please also submit the crash report, if the issue is reproducible and crash reporter window appears (please also put the thread number in the comment, so that we could easily locate it)?

Also whether this problem exists from the beginning of running PhotoScan on this system or it happend after some driver/OS update or after installing more recent PhotoScan version?

Hello Alexey,

I'm trying to process again to see if the crash occur.

The problem exists from the beginning of running PhotoScan on this computer. I've tried update the GPU drivers to the newest version, but the problem kept ocurring. It happens after a few dense clouds chunk processing, usually when the computer is not being used by other process.

I will try to send you the crash report as soon as it happens again.

Hi Alexey,

I have a similar issue. Since I upgraded from PhotoScan 1.4.2 to 1.4.3 my laptop (running Win 10) shuts down during Photo alignment without any warning or error message. I have now disabled the onboard graphics card (as suggested by you) so only the dedicated graphics card is used. The problem has disappeared now.
Please fix this issue so I can use both GPUs. Thank you.  :)


After some troubleshooting I know think that the problem is related to the recent Win 10 update and not Photoscan. The computer initiates a 'thermal shutdown' as soon as the GPU/CPU is used more intensely. Had the shutdown also occurring with other software packages that are computational intense.


Note that I am using the latest drivers for all graphics cards (Intel HD Graphics 620 & NVIDIA Quadro M1200).
