Can't Disable Depth Filtering
« on: August 20, 2018, 01:25:04 AM »
Hey, having trouble in the build dense cloud stage. I've selected "Disabled" for depth filtering, but the depth maps are still being filtered during the build process (the text log of the process stays on "filtering depth maps... " for a long time while processing). I have several dozen image sets with a high amount of overlap between images, so filtering depth maps makes the dense cloud stage take about 5 to 8x as long. I'd like a way to actually disable the calculation of depth filtering, is there something I'm missing, or a fix for this issue?

Thanks,
Leo

Hello Leo,

The dense cloud generation stage consists of two steps:
- depth maps calculation (here your parameters of quality and filtering mode are utilized)
- and dense cloud generation itself, where the point cloud is also filtered.

So if you disable the filtering for the depth maps (first step) it doesn't mean that the second step will be omitted.

To reduce the time spent on the dense cloud filtering (second step) you can limit the number of pairs evaluated for each camera, see the related information in the following thread:
