Automate Bounding Box - Large Scene/Terrain
« on: September 06, 2018, 09:48:10 PM »
Hi Folks,

I've been using Photoscan Pro to build large models of project sites for my work. These sites typically range from 0.25 - 2.0 square miles in area.

One of the difficulties I've been working with is figuring out how to accurately set the bounding box for such large models. I've read through some scripts that other users have posted to automate placing the bounding box, but I've only seen those scripts applied to smaller models.

Does anyone have experience with using a script to automate setting the bounding box and determining the ground plane for a larger model like this? Any tips and tricks for making it work well?

Thank you for your help!

Hey Lauren_O,

That's quite simple. Once your images are aligned, go to the Toolbar > Tools > Reset Region.

This will re-align the bounding box ground plane (the red side of the bounding box) with the determined ground plane of the 3D model.

Hi stihl,

Thanks for the suggestion! That function doesn't appear to entirely fix my issue, but it gets me in the ballpark of where I need to be.

Thanks!
