Read Only Mode Won't Let Me Save Changes
« on: September 18, 2018, 08:32:13 PM »
Hey all,
I was working on a model on a different computer a few days back and I just opened it on our lab computer to finish building it. I do this all the time with no problem. But now it won't let me save any changes I make because it is in read only mode and "I don't have permission." But I did make it, so I'm confused how I lost permission.

Any advice here?

Thanks!

Hello peterjoe13,

Which OS you are using?

If the project is not actually opened on any other computers, you can manually remove "lock" file from project.files directory and re-open the project.

I am having the same issue. The lock file is active when the file is open but disappears when I close the file. How do I delete it?

Hello szhu0,

The lock file is created when you open the project. It prevents any modifications applied to this project if it is opened after that by another user or from another program issue.

However, it does not limit any saving and modifications operation in the original application instance that has created the lock file.

It is not possible to remove the lock file when the application instance that has created it is opened.
