Non Fully Sequential UDIM Tile Export Issue
« on: August 26, 2021, 05:07:21 PM »
Hi there,

We have several assets that have UDIMs that go like:

1001-1005
1011-1020
1021-1022
1031-1040
etc.

This is pretty normal for a VFX workflow where the artists have split up the UDIMs by material. Unfortunately Agisoft seems to reorder everything on export so the exports always go sequentially from 1001 onwards regardless if there was data on some of the tiles.. so in our case we will find data that should be on UDIM 1011 is found on the Agisoft exported tile number 1006 so we have to hunt through and manually re order the exported UDIMs.

Is there any way to have Metashape just take care of this automatically?

Thanks,

J.

An acceptable workaround for this would be for Agisoft to just export blank tiles where there is no data, we can then pick them up easily in the file system and delete them by sorting by size.

Hello jashby,

Can you share an example of such model to support@agisoft.com? It can be just a kind of mock model/textures, which allow to reproduce and analyze the issue.

Here you go.
It's a cube with each face on a separate UDIM, 1001, 1002, 1011, 1013, 1021, 1041

I've also attached a screenshot of the UV layout.
