Floating licence server on linux?
« on: October 25, 2018, 01:55:38 PM »
Is it possible ot run a floating licence server on linux?

Manual sugests that the server executable is a .exe file, which sugests it may be winodws only.

We don't have any windows servers available, and my organisiation has a system for providing licence broker servers as VMs (which is specifically excluded I understand), so no good options there.

It would be unforutnate to have to provision an entire hardware server to run 24/7 just to host a single licence server when we already have good linux servers running.

Hello jrp,

Floating license server can be run on Windows (32-bit and 64-bit), Linux (64-bit) and Mac OS X (64-bit). rlm.exe has been given as an example in the Manual. You can also check the related article to get the rlm utility for the mentioned OS:

In case you need to run the license server on VM, please specify that when making an order for a floating license. In case you already own a floating license, please contact reseller or us directly for a possibility of running the license server on a VM.
