Constructing planes from point clouds
« on: October 29, 2018, 09:14:03 PM »
Hello,

I'm quite new to photoscan. I was just wondering if there is an option in PhotoScan to construct a plane by clicking at certain places in the point cloud/dense cloud?

I found a video which explains a part of what I need here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgeycrnTLwc, the guy here uses VRMesh but this is a little automated when it comes to selecting a region and I expect to maybe manually click at few points and construct a plane similar to what is on the point cloud.

Can anyone please guide me if there is a way?

Thanks,
Karthik

Karthik,

If you are using Photoscan Pro, I believe there is a Shapes tool to do this.

If you are using Standard, you could export point cloud to CloudCompare. Then, use Point List picking and Fit plane.
