How to create texture for obj file?
« on: February 03, 2018, 12:33:07 PM »
Hello, I have a corrected obj I imported to Photoscan using "import mesh" now I want to create a texture from photos to this scan. How can I do it. All options under "Workflow" are blacked out except "Align".

Hello Obi_Van_Kenobi,

To texture the imported mesh it is necessary to have the cameras aligned in the same coordinate space as the imported model is.

So basically you need to align the cameras first and then import the mesh. If it doesn't fit the scene, you can generate the rough model in PhotoScan, export it and bring the "good" model to the same position and dimensions as PhotoScan model, then import this modified mesh to PhotoScan and use Build Texture option from the Workflow menu.

Hello.

Is it possible to import a mesh, decimate it and export it without re-texturing, but eventually use the old texture, which was generated for the higher faces mesh?

Hello Serob,

The UV mapping is lost with the decimation procedure.
